popularity in high school

Did your high school have cliques in high school? Were you popular? I went to a wedding last night and saw a guy from my high school.. It was so embarrasing because I was kind of a loner and he didn't remember me.. Granted it was 14 years ago that we graduated..but still embarrassing b/c DH was VERY popular at his highschool and knew everyone!

I was friends with everyone. If popularity means people know you, then yes I was popular. There werte many cliques. But I was not one of those mean people who only talked to a select few. I see some of those girls now and they make me laugh because their looks have faded and their waists aren't a small as the used to me. Karma's a biotch baby!

Hmm, I don't *think* we had a popular crowd, persay, but we definitely had cliques. I didn't really care much about that stuff in high school though. I kind of marched to the beat of my own drummer and was friends with whomever I wanted to be friends with regardless of who they associated with. I had a "I don't care what you think of me" attitude mostly.

I was not in the "popular" group, but I knew and talked to everyone!

So, I was somewhere in the middle. Def not a loner, but most people would remember me.Chat Icon

ditto. i wasnt the prom queen or anything but i also wasnt the school outcast either.Chat Icon DH on the other hand knows everyone and their mother (literally!) in our town. there are times when we've been on vacation in completely different states and he'd find someone he went to high school with and they'd be the ones to say "hey alex! how have you been?" and DH will totally recognize them but NEVER remembers a name!

I was just the average girl in HS ... I wouldn't say popular at all.

Re: popularity in high school

We definitely had cliques in our high school. I probably wouldn't be easily remembered either. I had my small group of friends and associated most with the people who were in the humanities classes....so I guess that would make me a nerd Chat Icon But that's okay.....I'm happy with that Chat Icon

Re: popularity in high school

Being one of the only 2-3 set of twins in the whole school (back then, multiples werent nearly as common as now) so being twins, being big mouth Italians, the entire school from the teachers, deans Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon , lunch aides, principal, everyone knew who we were.

We werent in any cliques really, we knew someone from every group, from the rocknrolls, to the "gangsters" guidos and guidettes, outcasts Chat Icon to the nerds. we loved em all.

It was nice to have my twin by my side through those years too. we skipped 9th grade and never really felt the "im scared to be a freshman" thing that everyone talked about, even though we though it was going to be even harder since we skipped.

so it must have been different for us, since going through something like "growing up" with your "other half" right by your side, has to be more comforting and easier than going it alone.

.........we were voted loud mouths and most popular in the yearbook Chat Icon so that should sum it up.. Chat Icon Chat Icon
