At my job I work very closely with a couple different departments. I was told by my boss it’s a very open forum. He actually expects me to voice my opinion on projects and concepts.

Ok, so I do that…I had a project that came back to me that my boss was not exactly thrilled with. So I wrote down a lot of changes for a version my boss might like. The head of the department called me and told me he would take my changes as suggestions. He acutally said if he did not agree with the changes he would not do them.

So my question is without throwing this guy completely under the bus, what happens when my boss says he does not like this second version? I can't exactly ruin this relationship with this guy, because I do need him to help me get projects done. Without him, I'd be up the creek without a paddle
