So Long, Weekly Church Collection Envelopes
Has anyone heard of this?
I just got a letter from my parish announcing a new program called "ParishPay.com"
Basically you sign up and your weekly donation is auto deducted from your bank acct. or credit card.
I guess this is convenient for many who wish to contribute and are already paying bills online... but seriously how impersonal is this????
I guess it saves on paper which the greeny, tree hugger in me approves of, but sheesh!

Interesting!
Yes, a bit impersonal but not a bad idea..I hate writing checks for the envelopes, and this is pretty convenient.
It's just catching up with the rest of impersonal electronic America, lol!!!

It also guarantees a weekly donation from those who skip weeks from one reason or another... so you don't have those ebbs and flows in donations... summer vs. Christmas and Easter Holidays.
Makes it a lot easier for the ushers/bookkeepers.
Our fellowship (not a church) has done this for a few years now.
