Can't get any songs onto my ipod.
HELP!!! I'm ready to throw this thing out the window (not really but stilL!!!!!)
HOW DO I GET THE SONGS FROM MY COMPUTER ONTO MY IPOD?!?! I just put my ipod on my mom's computer b/c she has over 3,000 songs and i wanted to add them but it shows them to me but doesn't give me the option to sync it or add them somehow.

When you plug the iPod in, it should show up on the desktop and in iTunes. If it's not, go to the apple website, their help pages are usually pretty helpful.
Are you on a Mac or PC?

your ipod can only be sync'ed with 1 libary at a time...(as far as my knowledge)
if you attempt to sync, it will tell you to delete current ipod music, and sync to in this case, your mom's machine

you have to set the ipod into manually no...

You need to be in manual mode not auto sync mode. Just drag and drop the songs to the icon on the desktop.
You can not sync to two different computers. Just a warning, when you auto sync back to your computer you will lose everything you took from mom's computer because they are not on your playlist. This is how apple prevents pirating.

You can have both if you manually sync it, but not if you do auto

ok- I'm a complete iPod newbie--- have no clue on how to sync manually. I guess I'll have to do some reading somewhere b/c I'm completely lost. Thanks!

I'm a Mac user, so I'm not 100%, but when you connect the iPod to a computer for the first time, it should ask you if you want to sync manually. Did that happen when you hooked up to your mom's computer?

yes in other words if you manually sync from your mom's then you will also have to manually sync from your computer as well. If you auto sync from your machine it will delete everything you just took from your mom. Make sense?
Thanks- I think I undertand now. How does one manually sync though?

If I manually sinc DHs ipod to my computer then sinc mine, will it save all his music onto my itunes, then install it on mine. Will I have to manually sinc it forever after I do this?
