JJ has not been eating all his food
He used to be a very good eater eating all his food in one shot. Lately he only eats like half of it.
Does anyone have any experience with this? Is he bored of his food? Other than not finishing his meals every night, he seems in good shape.
Thanks so much!
ETS: He apparently does have an appettite. He will never deny a cookie and always begs if we're eating something...

Misty has gone through phases like that...sometimes I think it's the change in the weather. Or maybe sometimes, they just aren't as hungry.

Bailey's been the same way lately but if I splash some low sodium chicken broth over his food, he chows down!

It can totally be a phase. Have you tried adding a little something extra to it?
Dottie would do the half eat thing, then I would add the smallest piece of low salt turkey breast all squished in, and she was literally licking the bottom of the bowl.

Thanks girls!! The thing is, I'm not sure if I want to start adding things in fear of turning him into a picky eater.
My old german shep would only eat food if it had ground beef on top of it because my mother got him used to that.
Do you think it's bad to start this kind of habit?

I totally see where you are comingfrom, because Dottie can be a total brat now. But honestly, if they are really hungry they'll eat. As long as he's not acting funny or lethargic, I really don't think you have anything to worry about. Especially if he's eating treats.

I don't add anything for the same reason...the last thing I need is a picky eater. The vet told me they can go four or five days with no food at all, so if she only eats a little or doesn't eat at all for a meal or two I don't worry at all.
