Re: glucose test question
I had a chocolate chip cookie and a glass of orange juice (I know - nice breakfast!) right before i went to do it. I told the nurse because i thought it might screw it up but she said not to worry about it. Mine came back just fine so I wouldnt worry too much about it.

It really doesn't matter what you eat.

Re: glucose test question
They just told me not to eat anything too sugary the morning of the test...I chose to eat nothing that morning since the appt was early...but then again, I failed so maybe Im not the right person to suggest what to do!

Re: glucose test question
It does matter what you eat. I had wheat toast the morning of my test and I was borderline enough that I had to take the 3 hour
Ultimately, the test is to see how your body is breaking down sugar, but your results can be swayed by what you eat. Although, I don't think that ice cream tonight will make a difference for tomorrow.

Re: glucose test question
I had cereal for breakfast right before I had my test (cheerios - no sugar) with milk (has sugar). I failed my one hour and the girl at the lab said the milk was probably why.
