What's going on with your hair girls?

My hair is so blah right now. I've gotten a single process color and highlights in the past and I'm really due for them now. I have about 2 inches of dark roots and blondish highlights. I really don't think I could sit in a salon for 3 hours to get my hair done I have two more weeks to go with the pregnancy and one salon actually turned me down when I told them how far along I was.

I can't find anyone to do my hair at home and I'm really feeling ugly. I'm thinking about going to to CVS and buying something.

How's your hair doing? What have you done with it while pregnant?

I am doing the same thing,...... I have always been doing.. Roots and highlights.. I am a plat blonde and I would freak out if I had to grow out BLACk roots for 10 mts..

I would 100% sit to do it......

This is a big event...

I am holding off on my own bc my shower is in 2 weeks and I want it to be fresh

I went 2 weeks ago to get highlights (which I did throughout my PG) and a trim. It did take 3 hrs of sitting there but IMO, it's worth it. Dh and I joke that I'm "vanity nesting" bc I have been all about the beauty treatments these days but I dont know how long it will be until I get there again and I want to look decent in pics Chat Icon

Good for you and your due soon too. There's nothing like getting your hair done by soneone else. I'm not sure if I'm going to regret it if I do it myself.

I've been trying to be somewhat good so i've been skipping the coloring and just getting highlights. If I had any type of big function to go to I would def color it also...I have a ton of grays.

Here do you live?? I go to a salon in East Northport, and they are amazing! My colorist does the single process and highlights at the same time, so it usually takes about and hour and a half! (I know it's still a long time...but at least it's cut in half!!!)

Well, I stopped coloring during the pregnancy, and it's not so bad. There is a good amount of gray, but my hair is a light brown/dark blonde color, so it blends in a bit. The color I was using before is close to my natural color, so my roots aren't very different.

My hair is sooooo limp though--it cannot be styled at all. I have always had fine hair that was hard to style, but it's worse now. Most of the time, it looks very blah!

I was hoping for thicker hair during pregnancy, but that doesn't seem to have happened.

i colored my hair with my hair color before I was pregnant. So.. my hair actually is probably the only part of me that still looks OK - and probably healthier than ever. Though, its also really really long - past my butt. I should really get a trim - I've been saying that for ever!

Re: What's going on with your hair girls?

I have proceeded as normal throughout, I am just stretching the time in between. I get single process and highlights (every other time). I am totally due for a single process, but like you - I dont think I can bear to sit there for an extending period of time, or stretch in the chair they wash your hair in. I am hoping to go shortly after the baby comes.

I spend too much money on my hair to mess it up by trying to do it at home! So my my baby will have a mommy with roots for a couple weeks, I dont think he or she will mind! Chat Icon

I'm very familiar with that neigborhood. Let me know what salon and who you use.

I did go to a cactus salon on my lunch break today. They were pretty busy for a Tuesday. I was very happy with the girl I spoke to about my hair. I'm actually excited to get it done now. I have an appt this sunday for a single process, highlights and hair cut and blow dry. I know this is going to make me feel so much better. I really can't wait any further just too afraid something will happen.

I am the same. Highlights I don't think would cover the little grey I have, so I am not going to bother until after the pregnancy.

I go to 'Sheers of Elegance', it's on Larkfield Road. I use Renee...The number is 757-1208! Everything thinks I'm 'natural blond'...that's how great she is!

My dr said it was perfectly fine and I waited a trimester and a half before I got color done.

Where do you live? The salon I go to took me my whole 9 months! I get highlights to and my place would never turn be down just because I'm pregnant, its my choice to go anyway.

I couldn't amagine me doing my hair myself, it would look horrible--lol I would just wait or fine a new salon.

Re: What's going on with your hair girls?

Luckily I don't have any issues with coloring..I just don't do it!
I haven't colored my hair in almost three years, and thank goodness, no grays.

My hair is the shiniest most managable it's been in years...I love it!!
