Are any of you doing anything to bring on the labor?
There are a lot of us that are just waiting now. I'm curious if you are doing anything to help bring on the labor.

Re: Are any of you doing anything to bring on the labor?
Just had a spicy meal and am enjoying a glass of red wine now in hopes of moving things along. I need more ideas!

Re: Are any of you doing anything to bring on the labor?
I just wanted to share what I tried. The night before I had Isabella I had mexican food, raspberry tea and I walked a ton. Don't know if it is a coincidence or not since I was already dilated and contracting, but maybe it moved things along.

Just what I've learned in my lamaze class she said if you're in the mood to make love the semen contains prostaglandins that can stimulate contractions.
Obviously walking is a big help too I've heard.

I wasnt dilated, but the night before i went into labor i had cheese cake factory.. i had the louisana chicken (cajun dish), the doctor and nurses that must have triggered the labor.
but i didnt do on purpose, went out for birthday (which was my due date)

Re: Are any of you doing anything to bring on the labor?
No. But i should start. My sciatica (?spelling?) is killing me so its hard to walk, and I am afraid to attempt squats. DH is afrd to have sex with me because it hurst for me to walk even though I have pretty much begged for it , so not sure what else I can do. Maybe I will try the spicy food tomorrow.

Re: Are any of you doing anything to bring on the labor?
my old ob had me drink orange juice with castor oil and baking soda. it worked and within 3 hours i was at the hospital delivering dd.
i haven't tried this yet because you need to be somewhat dilated and effaced for it to work. i don't know if i am because my new ob did not do an internal at my last appt.
this concoction was one of the most awful things i have ever ingested, and i will only do it again if i feel like it will actually do something.

Re: Are any of you doing anything to bring on the labor?
i've been walking, and the other day i even went for a JOG i've tried squats and spicy food and a glass of wine and sex... i'm still pregnant
honestly, i don't believe that any of these interventions can actually start labor - if you're already in early labor they might speed things along, but your body has to be ready... jmo

I agree with you AlexLynn. If you're on your way those things will help move things along, but I don't think you'll start your labor until your body is ready no matter what.
