Holy crap!
Dad just called the movers to find out when they expect to deliver their stuff. They said next week!!!! They are supposed to be here this week!!!!!! It's taking them 2x as long as they said it would take! The driver was contacted and they said, something came up...What??????!!!
He's waiting to hear back as to the explanation.
Unless a big hole swallowed that moving truck or the driver had a heart attack, there should be no other reason.

I was picturing the moving men around the hole trying to pass your parents furniture out.

Yea movers will do that... we were supposed to get our furniture from NY to FL on a Mon or Tues and they didn't deliver it until that Friday (the day of DH's brother's rehearsal dinner for his wedding that was on sat). THEN the mover guy was being a d*ck all day and about 3/4 of the way through moving our stuff in, he asks how much his tip is going to be! 
ETA: We got the run around for the 3 days before they actually came to deliver it... I hope it works out for you!!

This has really gotten my dad furious...they are staying with us and I''m sure that will make for an unhappy DH as well..
Ok, everything went ok up until now.
Yeah, maybe I need to call...then again, they have their stuff.

they are already looking into making $$ concessions.
Yeah, we paid rent on an apartment and now we can't move in.

I guess this overshadows how quickly their car got delivered! There always seems to be a trade off...nothing "good" can just happen, there always has to be bad. 
I hope you can get this straightened out so they will be out of your house and out of your hair!
