Update!!!****So I had my level II this morning
And everything looks great, but Im so flipping annoyed at the sonographer. He wouldn't even attempt to take a peak to confirm if  is in fact He says "its too soon" so I tell him I paid for a sono last week and they said Im having a girl and he says "well if they said girl then its a girl" Super thanks!! Now IM second guessing my originally ultrasound. Has anyone's gender ultrasound been wrong?? Ill attatch a pic of my ultrasound tell me if you think it is a girl! Sorry im being a pain.

10/5/07 UPDATE:
So DH spoke with my doctor today to let the doctor know that we are both upset that the sono took 5 minutes and also, the tech refused to look at the gender. So my doctor apologized and had me make an appointment for October 16 and he will personally do the gender scan for me. He also said that they really dont do Level II's and he doesn't know why my other doctor reffered to the ultrasound as such  Thanks everyone for the advice!! Image Attachment(s):

I'm shocked the sonographer said it's too soon. Lots of people find out at their Level IIs.
Is their someone you can complain to about this. That was just wrong. I'm not sure if you're having a girl from the pic but I would ask to be seen again under the rude circumstances and rubbish that person gave you.

Yeah thats BS! It's not too soon, and he should have done what you asked. It would have taken him two seconds to give you that info (as long as baby was cooperating).
I'd complain and get another one.

I know, its completely ridiculous to say that it was too soon. Like I said, he didn't even attempt to look. I could see if the baby wasn't cooperating, then fine, there is nothing you can do, but to not even look. UGH. Im going to have DH call my doctors office and complain, being that Im a wimp.

That's ridiculous!!! I had my level II at at 18w3d and they told me then. It wasn't too soon. That tech is an idiot!

im sorry! you know my experience from last week....they really need to have friendler techs  I would trust the 3d/4d cause arent they alot clearer?? did he say when he would tell you?

What a jerk! Sorry you went thru that. I would call the dr and complain also. Maybe the dr. can confirm the sex to put your mind at ease. He should receive all the pics from today anyway.

You would think, but he didnt even go between the legs. All he looked at was the brain and head and the heart and the spine and that was it. Literally it was a 5 minute appointment. I seriously thought the level II was supposed to be a lot longer.

if it's late enough to have a level II it's late enough to tell the sex of the baby. i honestly couldn't see the sonogram pic well enough to get a great look. but i would tell your doctor and ask if you can have another sono for sex determination.

From what I see by the arrow, it definitely looks like a to me. It stinks that your sonagrapher was being difficult, but I'd feel comfy buying the pink if I was you. Congrats!

My understanding is that the Level 2 sono was the anatomy sono and checking the growth and development of the genitals was part of the procedure.

I think you have an additional right to complain. Our level II was very long. She measured EVERYTHING. And more than once. Hands, arms, legs, kidneys, ovaries, etc....

If you see three lines where the genitals are then its a girl. I work in a radiology office and this is what the sono techs there told me. I saw the three lines on mine and i had .

They def. should have been able to see at 20 weeks. They saw at 17 weeks for me.
ETA: it sounds like he didn't know how to tell, so he just avoided it.
