Anyone order their furniture from JC Penney?

DH and I are thinking of ordering from JC Penney. I hate that you can't see the furniture first. Baby Bargains says there is some customer service issues with them. Anyone have any issues?

I was very tempted, but since you couldn't see the furniture beforehand, I declined.
Plus the furniture is not that much different pricewise than other brands.

On another note, this summer my mom bought a crib for her house from a neighbor selling hers and it was from JCP....it was BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!

I am most likely buying mine from JC Penney. There are two cribs that I love...the "Tori" and "Heirloom". I don't like the fact that you can't see them but they are both ALOT cheaper than the set I liked in BRU and Behr's. I'm sure it can be returned if needed...I know that would be a huge hassle though.

We ordered the Heirloom set on Sunday and received it on Wednesday. We chose delivery to store for free shipping, saved us about $200. We're picking it up on Sunday, so we'll let you know about the quality then. But I've heard the quality is great, and so far we haven't had to deal with customer service *knock on wood.

We ended up getting two dressers (changing table and the dresser) for under $600. BRU and BBB were just too expensive for us, one piece would cost that much. And our crib was under $400.

We got our nursery furniture from JC Penney 2 years ago and I have no complaints. Furniture sold at JCP is made by other manufacturers so you can sometimes find them at other retail stores like BRU if you want to see in person.

ETA: You can call the customer service # to find out who the manufacturer is and then look them up to see where else they are sold. It's a little more work but worth it if you like the set and can save a few hundred bucks.

I know that the furniture is not easy to assemble and the directions aren't that clear.

My sister got her crib from JCPenny's 6 years ago. Went through two kids and she never had a problem with it.

There are 2 sets I love too from JCP. I did not realize you cannot see them in the store (I have yet to go and look).

Good suggestions about looking up the manufacturer.

If anyone has reviews and pics, it would be great!

Thanks. Baby Bargains said the quality is great. I just hate that you can't see it in person beforehand. This is my only issue at this point. I like the suggestion about finding the manufacturer but all I have here is BRU. NC has furniture stores everywhere but no baby furniture. It is killing me!

I bought DD#2's crib from there and had it shipped to the store for pickup. I had ZERO issues. it came quicker than i had expected.

The crib and changing table are from JCPenney. I know for a fact that this crib was also sold at BRU, I don't remember the manufacturer.

Our furniture is from JCP. We got it during a sale and got a great deal. The dresser was fully assembled (DH just had to attach the drawer pulls) and he found the crib pretty easy to put together too (we were expecting the worst)

BUT at a later date I ordered the matching bookshelf, and the package was damaged in shipping. So they just returned it to the warehouse, cancelled the order and didn't tell me. I had to call after wondering where it was. I didn't even get a verbal apology. So I don't know if I'd order from them again, even though the furniture is beautiful and is holding up well.
