flowers that are dying

do you take them out of the ground? i have some dying hostas and some impatients- should I uproot them or just let them disentegrate?

I'll be removing them in Oct cause some of mine still have blooms on one half of them.

Don't uproot the perennials like the Hostas. I usually cut back the dead stuff with the perennials. I don't like the look of dying plants.
You can uproot the annuals like impatients though.

Don't uproot the perennials like the Hostas. I usually cut back the dead stuff with the perennials. I don't like the look of dying plants.

I agree about leaving the perennials alone, in the ground. Consider using the leaves for mulch once they've dried out though. Keep the plants warm over the winter. Chat Icon
