Finally good news.........
.........after feeling so bleak and down we finally got some good news!!! We met with Dr. San Roman today (reprod. endo) and we went over all of our test results. At first they thought I may be PCOS because they saw the cystic ovaries BUT all of my blood work came back normal other than my glucose which was slightly elevated. Mine was 108 which is fine under all the old guidelines when they wanted it under 120 but now they would like it under 100 so it's slightly elevated but not really. He said that PCOS and it's symptoms is like a spectrum and I'm on the very mild side of that spectrum. Thank god!!! He put me on 500mg of Metformin today and then after week one I will take 2 pills a day bringing me up to 1000mg. That should hopefully help in regulating my cycles and with any luck, help in a losing a few pounds too!!
They did find a fibroid near my uterus but they want to hold off on surgery for now and monitor it. He said that's better than going in and doing the surgery which is not a major deal however, as with any surgery you run the risk of infection and scar tissue and that's far worse than the fibroid itself. So we'll watch it and see, it's very, very small (like a pea) so he doesn't think it will be a problem. I have a very slightly increased chance of a miscarriage because of where it is but like everyone else, that risk goes away after the first trimester and they won't be any complications during a pregnancy with the fibroid there because it's so small. Great news!
My husband's SA is fine. He has a few abnormal shaped sperm but because his sperm count is so high it kind of negates that problem. He said doing the IUI might not be a bad idea anyway though and it can only increase our odds so that's good.
I may need Clomid down the road but we're going to see how it goes with the Metformin first. If I need to take Clomid again he said it works much better in conjunction with the Metformin so with that and a possible IUI I should hopefully be pregnant with any luck within months. I sure hope so........I can't wait!!!!!! I know you all know how it feels, I just want a baby.
Anyway, I was so happy about hearing something positive so I wanted to post. I've been so down in the dumps so it was good to hear that things aren't as bad as I first thought. Sorry for the loooooong post and thanks!!!
P.S. Any info on your experiences with Metformin that you could pass along to me would be great!! Thanks in advance!!!!

Re: Finally good news.........
I posted the metformin manifesto on here before. I found it on fertility friend and it has a lot of great info on it about taking Met. I was on Met and had some tummy issues which resolved themselves when I adjusted my diet. I lost about 30lbs and I got pregnant my sixth month on it (third month trying). SO for me the s/e were completely worth it and I will gladly go back on when it is time to ttc again. Good luck and I hope the Met works for you as well.
