Why is it that...
...everytime we go look a house and show the LEAST bit of interest, the real estate agent always calls a few days later to tell me that 'there is another offer coming in on this house in a few days, so we better move fast'.
I'm not saying she's lying, but like I keep telling her...I'm not going to be rushed into making one of the biggest purchases of my life! I'm certainly not going into a bidding war!!!!! Not in today's market.

Honestly, don't believe her! Our REA did the same thing to us and guess what - the houses she said that about sat on the market LONG after we had moved into the house we did buy!

I know she's working for the seller, but I just hate the pressure tactics. Like I said, maybe she's not lying and maybe she's just giving us a 'heads-up', but she knows this particular house is way out of our price range, but she kept encouraging us to put a bid in 'no matter how crazy we think it is'.

I hated that tactic. It was so frustrating. There was a house we were bidding on and the agent told us that he already had several offers above the asking price. good for them, i say. I am not going over my limit b/c you want to start a bidding war.

we got one of those calls too...we didn't put in an offer and now the house is listed $15K lower. maybe she was truthful, maybe she was lying. either way, i hate that tactic too.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. Bottom line, I can only afford what I can afford. I do not want to become one of the many thousands of people who are now in big trouble because they bought a house they couldn't afford.
So, if we get out bid on this house...oh well. Good for the seller, bad for us. I'm sure my dream house is just around the corner!

I would tell her to go scratch & find another realtor. That tactic is about as outdated as a pair of slouch socks.

that my friend was priceless and taken straight out of my mouth OP definitely find someone else unless of course ur like my husband and i and fell in love w a house that was exclusive to a real estate w an agent that you now HAVE to work with in order to get the house....dont worry i screen my calls bc ive been so close to telling her to GO $UCK A NUT on more than one occassion
