Ebay question

I am trying to get football tickets for DH for our 1yr anniversary off ebay. I put in a bid of $160 but it still says "current bid $150". Then, when I check my bid's it says that my maximum bid is $160. Can anyone tell me if my big went through?

Re: Ebay question

It did --
Right now its at $150 with you as the high bidder. If I now try to bid $155, ebay will automatically raise your bid to tyour max, $160, and you'll have outbid me and still be the high bidder.
hope that makes sense.

Re: Ebay question

If you go to the item listing, it should say that you are the highest bidder if you are winning the tickets.

Re: Ebay question

Are you the high bidder? If so, then what ebay does is puts in the bid for the lowest amount in your range for you to win the item.
Then, if someone else bids - say $155 ebay will automatically up your bid to $156 to a max of $160.
The theory is that you can bid up to your max (you could max at $200 if you think the tickets would go that high) but if noone else bids, you won't overpay.
