kidney infection?
so i was woken up this morning about 5am with a terrible pain on my right side...DH and I went to emerge...find out that once your past 20wks (im 25wks 5 days) you go to OB triage..so we find where that is they ask a bunch of questions by OB comes in presses on my stomach they make sure the baby is ok (she is thank goodness I was so scared!) so they do blood tests, thats fine, they do urine test, thats fine I had another ultrasound right where the kidneys are hurt insanly bad when he was pressing with the little wand thing...so the doc and nurse possibly think ive got something going on with my kidneys...im scared cause it still hurts and I just called the doc office and they dont have the results from the ultrasound yet :s anyone else know of or have experience anything like this???

Re: kidney infection?
YES!!! i had it three weeks ago, they kept me in the hospital for five days on antibiotics and pain killers. I was 36wks preg and having contractions. They kept me incase they had to induce.. The antibiotics worked and now im doing okay, and have to follow up with a urologist after the birth.

Re: kidney infection?
Oh I know exactly how you feel. When I was around 22 weeks I woke up with terrible back/side pain. I calledl the dr. and they told me to get right over to L & D. They ran numerous tests on me for kidney stone/infection as well. Turned out that the way my uterus was growing, it was pushing my rib cage into a never-ending and causing muscle spasms. It was a horrible pain that came and went for about 5 weeks. The only thing I could do was take tylenol if needed. Nothing worked and I suffered for a few weeks. On a good note, I havent had the pain in a few weeks and the dr. said my insides shifted so I most likely shouldnt have that anymore. I hope you feel better.

Re: kidney infection?
I havent had this happen, but since I have a kidney disease they are always checking on me. I know that if you had a kidney infection something should have shown up in your urine and you would most likely have a fever. Could it be that you are dehydrated? Ive heard of getting really bad pains in that area because of that.
