Tivo question
Does anyone use Tivo service with Cablevision?
I have the Cablevision DVR and I hate it. I used to have Tivo with DirecTV and it was soo much better. I was thinking of getting the Tivo again, but it says something about only being able to record two basic cable channels at a time, not 2 digtal channels. Do you know what this means?

Re: Tivo question
If you don't mind me asking, what is to hate about DVR service from Cablevison?
I find it simple and easy... I'm not sure if Tivo has 2 HD turners like Cablevison.

Re: Tivo question
The DirectTV one gives you suggestions and better control of the season pass. Also searching is much easier. It also has two weeks worth of programming...cable only one.

Re: Tivo question
the new tivo hd box uses two hd cale cards - so you can recrd two shows at once now - and tivo just came out with a new cheaper version for HD
tivo is easier to use than the cable box - the menus are easier and more intuitive - but the cable dvr is not that bad
you can't get on demand with cable cards though is the only draw back
but you can use tivo unbox to download movies from amazon

Re: Tivo question
We had tivo before our cablevision DVR. The season pass thing was a bit easier but as long as you tell the Cablevision box to record every new episode you're doing exactly the same thing. You can record two channels on the tivo but have to have it setup correctly. We went with the cablevision one because it was one less bill to worry about(on our cablevision bill now) and one less electronic to have(power up). I would keep the cablevision box in a heartbeat. No tivo anymore for me.
