help w/ wild rabbit
Hi I have one rabbit that has been at my yard practically everyday since the start of June! I never fed him in the beginning and he would still come everyday for weeks. I then started to give him clean water and carrots and kale every now and then and he is still with us for 3 plus months now!
Here is the issues. I am VERY attached to this little guy, but I do not want to do him a disservice either. Is is ok that I feed him from time to time? He never let me get close to him at all in the past but as time goes by I am now able to get about 2 feet from him without him running away.
Since I am so attached to him I am worried about him come the winter as well.
If any rabbit people can help I would appreciate it.

I may be in the minority on this but I would stop feeding him. He needs to know how to forage for himself - especially come winter.

I've left food (lettuce, carrots) for wild bunnies who live in our yard and they usually won't eat it anyway.

yep thats what he does most of the time he prefers to eat the lawn, which is fine by me because he goes after all the weeds!

He'll be fine whether or not you feed him. I don't think it's a problem to continue to feed him. But if you are feeding him now I would certainly continue over the winter months.
