more bloody show-updated

Ugh I hate these terms.
Saturday and Sunday I lost a lot of mucus that was blood tinged.
This morning there was more, but with a lot more bright red blood. I am not currently bleeding, but almost spotting a little. The amount of blood freaked me out. I called the nurse at my ob's office. I hope it is nothing to worry about. I just haven't seen blood in quite some time!
I am waiting for them to call me back. I had a lot of contractions last night (7 mins apart, then they stopped). So far today I am crampy but not contracting regularly. I hate not know what to expect.

Update:
Nurse just called. She didn't seem alarmed. She said it is more of the mucus plug. However, she told me if I notice more bright red blood, or that baby isn't moving to call back right away. She said to drink water and lay on my left side for a while. I still feel like this can go on forever. My next appt isn't even until Thursday.

Re: more bloody show

I had a lot of this with Jack. They'll probably have you come in and put you on the monitor.

At this point b/c you are contracting and dilated and effaced you could ask for an induction - you defiitely qualify.

Good luck - thinking of you Chat Icon Chat Icon

I had no idea I was in labor until I saw bloody show! I called the dr. she was not alarmed but said to come in anyway. I went to the hospital at 5:30am (4cm dialated) and had my daughter at 11:27am!

I wish they wanted to see me today. If someone checked me out I would at least have a better idea of what is going on.

If you are in active labor you'll know it (OK yes there are those people who don't but most do). Early labor is fairly managable but once it really starts you feel it and they stay regular.

If you're worried you could probably ask that they see you today though.

Thank you! I guess I will just wait until I know it is for real. I know it can take a while, waiting is the hardest part. Chat Icon

Yours sounds a lot like mine. I had pro dromal labor (it kept starting and stopping). I was 5 days late and went to my appointment and broke down. I was on the NST machine and she said my contractions were regular. She stripped my membranes and sent me to the hospital. That kept me in labor but from the time it started and stopped to the time they became regular it was different and a bit more intense.
Labor vibes!! Its going to happen really soon!! Chat Icon
