Great Neck
Hi everyone.. I am looking for a nice one bedroom to rent in Great Neck. We need to be near the train. Does anyone know of anything or have any suggestions. I'm getting the feeling that its mostly owned. We will be looking to buy next year some time, but right now I need something to rent. Please let me know if you know of anything. Thanks in advance.

Re: Great Neck
I live in Great Neck and I don't know about any rentals. I would check w/ a broker b/c many of the bldgs that I looked at to buy don't allow renters.
What about Great Neck Terrace? Good Luck

Re: Great Neck
I don't really know of rentals in Great Neck--I lived there until a month ago. You probably should speak to a REA. Most of the apartment buildings are co-op or condo.
Great Neck Terrace doesn't have rentals. There are some sublets, and some people who have lived there forever are still renting (from the days before it went co-op), but generally no rentals.
Also, Craig's List might have listings. I never had much luck with that, but some people do.
Good luck!

That isn't true. I lived in the Terraces. They do have rentals, but you have to be on the list with their RE agent. Also, you can't rent your coop until you have lived there x amount of years (I think 5). I lived in a coop my cousin and uncle owned, I was only allowed to rent from them (it was the second year they owned it) b/c I was related to them, and yes, we had to prove it.
Great place to live though, loved it there

Thanks for the help.. I'm not a big fan of the terrace.. right now I'm looking into some garden apts that are rentals near the train.. no brokers fee which could be good. If anyone else knows of anything please fm me. Thanks.
