Re: When there's more than one

Depends what kind of thread it is. If someone is asking for some specific info I read to see what others have answered already . No point in re-posting the same answer over and over.

Re: When there's more than one

I say other because it depends on what the question is. If it is a very simple question with no thought, I will skip to the end, or just answer it from the original post. If it is a very obviously heated topic, then I will read it and reply accordingly.

Both. It depends on the length of the thread. If it is VERY long, I will skip to the end, post my opinion and then read.

Re: When there's more than one

I voted that I read the entire thread but really now that I think about it I guess I would fall in your other catagorey b/c for the most part, with multi-page threads I sort of skim through the answers all the way to the last page.

The reason I do this is to see if the OP's question was answered and if the thread has turned in a different direction. If it has I may answer the OP's question or answer the new one.

So what do you do?

Ditto, or if I get to a reply that I whole heartedly agree with (as I just did) I will "quote" and add if needed. Chat Icon

This is actually part of the reason why I read the entire thread!!

I'm definitely a fan of the quote!

Re: When there's more than one

I read the whole thread, I just did!! Chat Icon Sometimes if it's really long I'll skim it to get the jist, and like someone else said see if the question has already been answered and if the conversation is going in a new direction. But if it's a simple "getting to know you" question then I just answer it and then go back and read what everyone else said.

Depends on the thread. Sometimes the posts are interesting to read. But sometimes I just jump to the end.

Re: When there's more than one

Depends on the topic. For ones that are just looking for a one or two word response, I don't always read everything (ala What is your Favorite PopTart flavor)

Most other ones, I try to read the whole thing. Sometimes, if it's over 4 pages, I'll read the first page, then the last, and try and see if that's enough to get by with.

Ditto. Part of the reason why I'm here is to get to know other people. Threads where one person asks "what's your favorite ______" and you have 30 answers but no "dicussion" are boring to me. May as well not share anything because no one cares or comments about anyone else's answer. Chat Icon

On those threads, I'll skim unless I see a reply that's more than one sentence, or if it's an interesting answer.

I chuckle when there's a long thread where multiple people ask a question that was already answered. It's obvious they're not reading the whole thing, so there's no point in answering them again! Chat Icon
