contractions

this might sound silly, but what should i suspect to feel?

I have previa and the dr. does not want me to go into labor, due to complications. he plans to take the baby mid october a little over 4 weeks...

i have the dubious honor of being a contraction expert of sorts, since i have been contracting for oh, 10 weeks now everyone is different, but i have a couple of different kinds of contractions:

-sometimes they are painless but just feel like my entire uterus is tightening. you can actually see the uterus tightening, and as you get bigger it looks kind of deformed because you can see lumps and bumps of baby!! these kinds of contractions earlier on in pregnancy can feel like the baby is balling up inside you.

-then there are the horrible, painful contractions. those feel like menstrual cramps gone bad. for me they start in my lower back and then come around to my lower uterus, and then spread to the entire uterus. i feel like i have to poop, and the pain also radiates down my thighs. these contractions suk!!!!!

I have previa too, and when I was in the hospital for bleeding this weekend the nurse kept saying I was having contractions, but i wasn't feeling them at all. A couple times my stomach felt a bit tight and hard, but that's about it.

hey michele, its me lisa your previa partner. how ya doing? bedrest? Well i've been having spotting on and off since i went to the dr. for spotting/mild bleeding a week ago tomorrow. And sometimes i feel like everything is extremely tight but its usually when the baby is moving...i'm just scared about going into labor early due to complications with previa

I hear you... and now i'm even more worried because my doc told me yesterday that I could deliver as early as 36 weeks and a few days!!! YIKES!! And she says they can do an amnio to check on the lungs later on, but how do you know how long it will take the lungs to be developed.
So I should know within the next two doc visits as to when I will be scheduled.
No bed rest yet. She said if I bleed again I'll probably be put on bed rest and possibly in the hospital till the end depending on how much the bleed is. I wouldn't mind home bed rest, but hospital will drive me mad. Those beds are so uncomfortable!!!

my doc gave me a sho of steriods at 27 weeks and again this mon/tues to help with the dev. of the lungs. i wasn't originally due until nov 11th but now have a c scheduled for oct 19th. that will make me 36 and a few days... i'm just hoping hell hang in until then. the spotting though is so annoying cause it leaves me worrying tomorrow will it be bad or just go away? its such a rollercoaster ride!
