not sure how far along i am

So I read that you are supposed to count back from the first day of your last period ...if I did that I would be almost 7 weeks. But I have a longer cycle...about 32 days. My friend said that I should consider myself 2 weeks prego when i got my BFP. In that case I would only be about 4 weeks. I'm not seeing the doctor til October 1. That's the earliest they would see me and it's killing me because I feel like I just need someone to confirm this and put my mind at ease. It's also so hard not to tell people I'm pregnant! Help !!

ps...i have hardly any symptoms....no nausea, sore boobs...which makes me think I couldn't be as far along as I originally thought

If you go to babycenter.com and click on the due date calendar....you put in the date of your last period and your normal cycle length. this will tell what week you are in.

When was your last period? They usually go by that and adjust it at your first sono.

I have long cycles too, but my due date was still calculated by my last period, even though I knew my ovulation date. Then like pp said, they can always adjust it if your sonogram shows you are further or not as far along.

I think your friend meant that you are 4 weeks pg when you get your BFP....not 2 weeks.

It stinks that your doctor can't see you until 10/1 but it's possible that even if they did, they still couldn't tell you exactly how far along you were. When I went, my doctor just pulled out this calculator (based on your last period) and told me that I was probably a little over 5 weeks. I also have long cycles (32-33 days).

She said that at my next appt (which is today, and by her previous calculations, I would be 8 weeks) she would be able to measure the fetus/embro (not sure what stage it is) and be able to give me an EDD.

So, that being said, I would just calculate off your last period and like the other ladies, said, wait till you see your dr and they will adjust accordingly.

I'm so sorry you have to wait like this and now know!! I know for me, my first dr.'s visit solidified the fact that I was pg for me and made feel much better than everything was "ok". Good luck!!

at the doctor's office they use a little wheel to calculate how far along you are and your due date. they go by your last period and do not ask about your cycle length, so i would say go by your last period.

a sono can tell you how far you are, thats what i had to go by, i had irregular menstral cycles so, i had no clue when i conceived. The sono tech, told me how far i was.

thanks everybody! I went to babycenter.com and it told me i am about 6 weeks based on my cycle length and the date of my last period. I'll be getting a sono 10/1 so I'll have a better idea then! just wish i didnt have to wait so long!

this is the foirmula my dr and most use..

take the day of your last AF count 9 months and add a week.. so for me last AF 7/14 plus nine months 4/14 plus one week 4/21
