for anyone who has tried "colorwashing"

when you painted, what did you use to colorwash with? the directions say a soft cloth or a seaspoge, but i know what we use will determine the look. if anyone has done this, what did you use and could you tell me if you were happy with the turnout? pics would be much appreciated! TIAChat Icon

I don't have any pics, but i did this in our old apt. I used rags that i bought at the paint store (a bag of them) and then I used each of them until they were saturated and then I used a new one.

You could always try a few different things on an old piece of wood or something to see what you like best. Good Luck!

I would def. use a rag or even crumpled plastic bag. I usually practice my decorative finishes on the wall in the garage. If you use a sponge IMO it will look cheesy...

I bought a really big soft Wallpapering brush and used that, it was really easy and each stroke covered a lot of area.
