Make me feel better please

SO I failed my one hour GD test miserably. My first pregnancy I passed with flying colors so I assumed that this one would go just as smooth. NOT THE CASE.

Did anyones doctors tell them their numbers. The dr said I needed to be below 138 and I was at 167. I have to do the 3 hour test. I am wondering if my numbers were so high that I have zero chance of passing the 3 hour test.

I hate this. Just when you think everything is going along smoothly a huge bump in the road.

Oh, did I mention that I gained 9 pounds in 4 weeks. Yup, in 4 weeks I gained 4 pounds less than I have my whole freakin pregnancy.

What a crappy morning.

So, for those who failed the one hour and passed the 3 hour what were your numbers?

My sister and sister in law both failed the 1 hour and passed the 3 hour. I don't know their numbers but I do know why they failed. My sister had a pasta dinner the night before and my sister in law had a big ice cream sundae the night before. Good luck with the 3 hour

I gained 6 lbs in 2 weeks... twice!!! I don't have GD. My dr. said that happens. Good luck with your 3 hr!! I've read a lot of women on here and other places who failed the 1 hr and passed the 3 so stay positive!!

a lot of people pass the 3-hr after failing the 1-hr. The 1-hr is just a preliminary test

growth spurts happen... i gained my weight all in large spurts, followed by weeks of no gain. i wouldn't worry, your body is doing what it has to do to grow your baby

I'm feeling the same way you are. Failed the 1 hour. My MD said the number had to be below 130, and I was at 159!

I guess the difference in our numbers is based on what lab our respective MDs use.

Thanks everyone. I am in the middle of my 28th week. It was just such a shock to me that I gained that much in such a short time. I know it is normal I just did not expect it. I also did not expect to fail the 1 hour test because I passed it with flying colors last time so I guess the combo really through me for a loop. Wish me luck Thursday morning. Nothing like hanging out in the dr's office for 3 hours.
