NT Scan
How many of you had this done. I am scheduled to have mine done next Monday and of course some people are asking me why I am going for it.
I am only 28, so age isn't the reason. And if we didn't get good news, I don't think I would do an amnio and I know I wouldn't terminate. I guess I am going because my doctor mentioned(recommended) it and I also would like to see the baby again.
What were your reasons for having it done or not having it done?

Re: NT Scan
You are talking about the 12 week ultrascreen test? If so, we had it done bc we wanted to have every non invasive test done, just to be prepared for any scenario. If we had happened to have a child born that needed some type of special care after birth, we wanted to prepared for that.
For us, all of the testing (ultrascreen, AFP, etc.) all ended up being peace of mind bc everything came back great.
Also, the 12 week ultrascreen gives you some great pics of the baby!
Good luck!

This is exactly why we did it. We just wanted to be prepared in case something came back. They couldn't get the baby in the right position so we went twice and got twice as many pictures.

Re: NT Scan
At the time I was sent for the 12 week scan I didn't even know it was an option. My doctor just made it seem like it was routine.

Re: NT Scan
totally non-invasive and if there is an issue, it's better to have the proper specialists on hand during the delivery, IMO.
