am i the only one not getting internals?

my dr. has been on vacation, so last week and this week i had a different dr. He doesn't believe in doing internals until 38 weeks, so i have to now wait until next week i want to know what~if anything is going on in there!!! If my dr wasn't on vacation, she would've done an internal last week and this week figures...

I don't think I got them until then either. Don't worry too much. I'm sure everything is fine.

None of my doctors believe in doing them untill your due date. With my first pregnancy I didn't have one till I was in labor. I had one at 37 weeks with my DD because I was having contractions. But I didn't have another untill I was 2 days late.

I think I had one at 36 weeks with the NP, but then never again. I was sent to the hospital at 39 weeks b/c of high blood pressure.

i didnt get them until very near to the end and then i was induced. i really wouldnt worry about them not doing them yet trust in your doctors if it is needed they will do them i wouldnt be in a rush though they are not the most pleasurable of things to do

I did not get an internal until 38 weeks...you are not missing anything, trust me

Before my doctor started to administer internals she asked me if I was experiencing pressure down below and I was. I was feeling extreme pelvic pressure and soreness in the crevice between my thighs and pelvis, so that kind of started the process of internals. The good thing about internals is that you know the progress of the baby descending into the pelvis...but if you're feeling fine then there is nothing to worry about and I would just wait until 38 weeks...try not to worry too much and if you really want one, just mention to them at your next exam that you're experiencing pressure down there.

Other than that, you're not missing much...they ARE uncomfortable the further along you get.

Im 38 weeks and havent had an internal... I had one two weeks ago, b/c i was in the hospital for renal colic and having contractions. otherwise i still havent had one and the doctor hasnt mentioned about doing one.

I'll be having one at 37 weeks but the nurse said only one because I am having a c-section.

Internals are uncomfortable and don't really tell you anything. I went for one and the doctor said I had no progress, I went into labor that night. You'll have plenty of people poking and proding you in no time, don't worry.

I haven't had an internal yet either, but will be 36 weeks next week..I am really hoping they put it off until 38ish weeks.....

i'll be getting one on wednesday...

I just thought that everyone gets them starting at 36 weeks, but i guess not!!

They really mean nothing so don't stress about having them. They don't predict when you'll have your baby and they aren't any fun at all.

I'm not going to get any internals toward the end of my pregnancy. They don't really tell you that much and are very uncomfortable. The only time I'll allow them is during labor and even then they'll be kept to a minimum.
