Where is the line between hopeful and
being realistic? Maybe realistic is not the right word...
this week I started my 2nd round of Clomid, next week I will have my 2nd IUI. I was very excited last month for the first one, not feeling that way this time. I want to have a positive attitude, but I'm afraid of a big let down...
anyone else feel that way?

Re: Where is the line between hopeful and
I think this is always an issue when playing the fertility game. You can't help but get your hopes up, and unfortunetely will always be disappointed if the month does not work. I tried soooo hard not to focus on the negative when I was going through this process, just because I felt like if I thought positive thoughts, maybe I could have a posistive result, and eventually I did. Its always a hope for the best but prepare for the worst situation.
That probobly doesn't help at all, but do try to stay positive, every month is a new chance for what will be a lifetime of love.
GOod luck to you...

I know how you feel. I started this month on my most positive note ever because a sono last month indicated that I should ovulate on my "good" side (the one with the remaining fallopian tube) this month.
I kept saying "this is the month we are gonna get pg" and I meant it. Now that I am in the tww, I don't feel that way. I am waiting for another let down.

Well after three years of doing this I can only say that every stimulation cycle I hope for the best and expect the worst...and still end up very disappointed with each negative.

ITA. I always try to prepare myself for the worst news, but I never really can anyway. I keep thinking, come on...its not going to work this cycle, but something deep inside of me won't let me truly feel that. If you didn't have hope, you would NEVER be able to put yourself through all that you have to do for these cycles. If you had no hope, there would be no motivation.
We've all been there and we all understand. If you ever need to talk, I'm here

Re: Where is the line between hopeful and
Thanks to all for the positive messages! I am trying to be optimistic. I had acupuncture yesterday and James told me not to be discouraged, it usually takes awhile with IUI and clomid, but RE already said only 3 months on clomid and then on to injectables.
We'll see! Hoping for the best for all of us!
