People can be SO thoughtless sometimes....
I work for a funeral home handling the burial of a Marine killed in Iraq last week. He arrived at our place today amidst a bit of "fanfare" I guess you could say.....an escort of maybe a dozen motorcycle cops & a few police cars as well. They did block the road off for MAYBE a minute or so.
About 10 minutes after they were inside,our phone rang. A women was in HYSTERICS. She actually sounded paniced. She was crying & asking what the commotion was about. "My heart is pounding....I'm so frightened...did something terrible happen?" she asks.....I explain "Mam...the police department provided an escort for a marine killed in Iraq last week. We're sorry if the noise was upsetting".
WELL....she replies by repeating herself & adding how upsetting the noise was, how it frightened her & was TOTALLY unneccasary! It was RUDE & thoughtless & the traffic was blocked off....she had to go around the block to get home..... SHE JUST KEPT GOING!!!!
I kindly repeated MYSELF. She wanted to know what department handled this. She wanted to know what precinct. I told her she could call the Suffolk County Police Dept. with any complaints!
Holy Crap!!!!!!!! How INSENSITIVE could this women be even after I had explained the reason? Did she really think we had time to deal with that petty bullsh!!t?!!!!

I actually muttered something ALMOST as nice when I hung up....not realizing almost a dozen Marines were behind me AND heard me  But a few cracked asmile when they heard what she was saying!!!!

Yes...I guess she really was being nosy probably!! Well wait till the visiting....her whole neighborhood will be "disturbed"....how terrible for her....poor thing
