Acupuncture
Repost from TTC:
Has anyone done this?
I'm starting tomorrow....I'm actually very excited. I feel like its more natural than medicine and its making me feel like I'm taking control.
A little background...I've posted all this before, but don't post often.
I got pregnant my first month off the Pill, then m/c at approx. 7.5 weeks last February. I had an extensive D&C and had to stay in the hospital b/c they thought it was ectopic. It wasn't. Since then I've had crazy, crazy cycles. I go over 50 days a lot without AF. So, I took Prometrium (progesterone) to bring it on in June. Then again in August and got AF 58 days after the last one. Now they want to put me on Clomid.
I decided to take a step back. The OB/GYN hasn't asked one thing about my life, stress or feelings. She doesn't even call me back within a day or two. The acupuncture place spent 20 min on the phone asking about my life and work. Tomorrow I'm having a 2 hour appt. Part of it is with a nutritionist, part with an acupuncturist. They look to learn all about you so they can diagnose the issue before figuring out how to address it. I'm looking forward to it!!

Re: Acupuncture
I just started going in July and love it. I had a m/c in late June so want my body to get back to normal. So far I love it - can't say if it has helped me get pg, as this is my first cycle trying, but it has definitely made my body feel better! Good luck to you.

Re: Acupuncture
Where do you go? Anyone in Suffolk? My new insurance kicked in and it covers acupuncture.
Good Luck at your appointment!

Re: Acupuncture
I totally saw a difference in my overall life going to acupuncture. I was really stressed out and it was effecting me in so many ways. The acupuncture helped me and I felt like a new person after a few sessions. Good Luck. Maybe its all you need for your BFP!

Re: Acupuncture
Thank you everyone. I actually live out of state, so I'm not going on LI. I'm from LI and got married there and used LIWeddings and then this site...and never left!
I have my appt today. I was there for over 2 hours. They spent time getting to know me, my medical history, my family medical history, my job, etc. Then I had an acupuncture session. They put together a package that includes session with a nutritionist, acupuncture sessions, Mayan massages (where they help align your uteris within your pelvis), and some herbs. I am now going to see if my insurance covers all of this! I have no opinion one way or the other if this is really going to work. However, I feel extremely optimistic and a bit in control, which is nice for once!

Re: Acupuncture
I've been going to acupuncture since March. Three months later (and 5 IUI's later) I got pg.
I really, really think it helped out and continue to go for my sciatic/back pain issues. It works!!

Re: Acupuncture
How much does it generally cost? I'm pretty sure my insurance wouldn't cover it

Re: Acupuncture
I think each accup. session is about $50 but I'm not sure b/c they put together a package for me that includes many things.

Re: Acupuncture
i went to acupuncture during ivf. although i can't be sure that acupuncture gave me my bfp, i can be sure that it helped me to relax and take care of my body in ways that were really out-of-whack! i love acupuncture and wish i could continue going now, but i don't have the extra money.
good luck to you and enjoy the new experiences!
