I just did it cold turkey one day.
Honestly I was sick and I had smoked soooooo much that it made me feel worse - so I just stopped and that was it.
Now it is 5 years later 
DH just got Zerosmoke - not sure how well that is working for him though

I hated having that control me, I knew I was stronger than the addiction, I convinced myself that it was just dumb to be killing myself everyday, and what helped most was that I started running which made me strive to be and feel healthy. I quit 3yrs ago.

My mom took that new pill (forgot the name) and she has been smoking for over 45 years and it worked for her.

my mom took a pill. It was after her heart attack. She also said the look on my face was enough for her. Also, I told her if she smoked she would never be near a future grandchild.
I guess all of those things helped her stop.
I forgot the script name..but she said it really helped her. Something with a Z
