Just Aopted a 5-yr old Shiz Tzu, need some help!
I just adopted a 5-year old Shiz Tzu from NSAL. He's great! Now that the long weekend is over and I'll be heading back to work, I have no clue what kind of schedule to put "furry" Murray on. Should I walk him first thing in the morning? Or should I walk him after he has breakfast? Or both? If I don't walk him after breakfast, can he hold it until I get home? Thank you soo much for any assistance. I added a pic of my little man. Image Attachment(s):

I'm assuming you don't have a yard therefore walk him in the am and in the afternoon too and then again after dinner or before bed.
If you do have a yard, then I would do one nice long walk in the afternoon.
Congrats!!!

We live in an apartment, so no yard. I woke up and gave him food before I jumped in the shower. He didn't eat any of the food. I walked him before I left and he did his business. I felt terrible leaving him! I will not be home until 6ish. I hope tihs works. The people at NSAL felt it was okay for him to be left all day because he is older. We'll see. Thanks for the help!

i would suggest walking him at least twice a day, after breakfast and after dinner. usually our morning walk with the dogs is shorter because of work, but we make our afternoon walk more extended.
about leaving him home all day - i think he should be fine, as long as he gets plenty of attention when you guys get home.
kudos for adopting an older dog... they are so wonderful!!
