silly misunderstanding......
We were out with some friends for dinner tonight. I was starting to tell one of my friends, who has 3 kids, a story about a day care center I was looking at. So, I started saying, "I was looking at a day care........."
All of a sudden she said,"WHAT?? What were you doing?" I assumed the worst--that she is against day care and was going to give me the business about it. Her kids were never in day care but I did not think she would have a strong opinion about it.
So, I repeated myself, "I was looking at a day care....."
She laughed and said, "Ooooooh, I really thought you said you were looking at a d-i-c-k hair."
We got such a laugh out of this!!! When I told her that I got afraid that she was about to give me a hard time about putting my child in day care, she laughed. Of course, knowing this friend, we will forever refer to day care as d-i-c-k hair.
