Would you Bring
your own food with you to a BBQ?? I'm having a BBQ tomorrow with just immediate family. I bought steak (that's marinating as I type), chicken, burgers and a bunch of other stuff. Anyway... my MIL asks me today if it's ok if she brings hotdogs. I don't mind, but why did I spend money on good steak and chicken?? I thought that by now we are all sick of hot dogs!! I wasn't even gonna buy the hamburgers, but my DH insisted. I wanted to do something other than the ordinary hotdog hamburger BBQ. Just had to share!

Re: Would you Bring
I don't think I would ask to bring hot dogs to BBQ at someone else's house but I would sure miss them -- it's my fave off the grill.
I am sure they will enjoy everything you are serviing!

Re: Would you Bring
I would ask, but if the host said they had the things you mentioned, I would say OK, I'll just bring me and my appetite...
I like to offer to help out, but I only have to be told "No, thanks" once.

Re: Would you Bring
I've had a guest bring boca burgers when they didn't eat the regular chared animal flesh that the rest of us were enjoying . I didn't think it was rude. I would have thought it rude if she asked ME to BUY it for her....

Re: Would you Bring
that would not bother me at all. she's probably just trying to help and wants to bring something.
I never bring meat to a BBQ, but I bring dessert.
