Re: comforter?
Yeah, I think its a smothering hazard. A lot of ladies will hang the comforter on the wall. Or just drape it over a chair or couch. They could possibly use it as they get older? Maybe? correct me if I'm wrong.

Re: comforter?
True, because the baby can get wrapped up in loose bedding and be at a higher risk for SIDS.

I was thinking that they could use it when they get older too.

Re: comforter?
Most cribs convert into toddler beds now and you can use the comfortor then. My friend used her son's as a wall hanging too.

Re: comforter?
They come with them because stores like to make money and parents oooh and ahh over them in the stores and don't know better.
I'm planning to go straight from the crib to a twin size bed, so the comforter would never be used.

Re: comforter?
I use the blanket that came with my set. I just tuck it in on both sides.

Re: comforter?
I will start using it when is a year old and still in his crib. For now I will put it over the back of the glider.

Re: comforter?
My DS is 2 and I used the comforter for a playmat sometimes when he was younger. It was never used as a blanket and now he is in a full size bed so it will never be used. That is why for #2 I am just buying separate sheets and bumpers
