Out of breath!
OMG, it's so strange. I was just sitting at my desk interviewing a candidate and all of a sudden I was out of breath. The guy must have thought I was nuts, heavily breathing through the questions. I'm only 14.5 weeks, I didn't think breathlessness occurred so early. Has anyone else experienced this?

Re: Out of breath!
Yes - it was actually one of my first signs my first pregnancy. I always walk up the escalator at the subway but felt like I smoked a pack of cigs when I did - immediately. I ride it now!

Re: Out of breath!
It's such a weird feeling. I felt like I needed an inhaler or something.

Re: Out of breath!
I noticed this happening to me pretty early, around 12 or 13 weeks, when I had to speak for awhile to large groups of people. Probably had something to do with speaking and trying to project my voice at the same time.
It's normal, something to do with increased blood volume, and later in the pregnancy, with your lungs getting squashed.

Re: Out of breath!
I have that problem also and I am only 12 weeks, I asked my doctor about it and she said it's fine. I thought something was wrong with me because I know I didn't gain that much weight already.. LOL

Re: Out of breath!
yes, i was definitely out of breath for no reason that early, i'm pretty sure it's one of the normal symptoms of pregnancy. it got better for me during the second tri - come to think of it, everything got better in the second tri! - and then came back in the third tri because my lungs are now being squished by my little monster

Re: Out of breath!
I get like that. When I talk a lot I get very out of breath. I'm always apologizing to clients.

Re: Out of breath!
If it is severe, get it checked out. I was found to have a heart rhythm disorder that may or may not have been triggered by my pregnancy. I see a cardiologist now. I was prescribed medication, but if it were milder they would just monitor me.

Re: Out of breath!
I was feeling the same way for a couple of weeks now. My doctor said not to worry but to tell him if it worsens

Re: Out of breath!
if it continues get some lab work, it could be increased blood volume or you could be anemic, a simple supplement fixes the problem and there is no need for concern
