I just came back from my 36 week appointment and
it was totally fine. My doctor did the Strep B test and put her hand inside me and felt the baby's head. It really did not hurt at all, and it was fast. My doctor said that the Baby's head is face down, but not engaged yet. She said there is a possibility the baby might still move. So I am hoping the baby stays in place and engages.

Wow. Great news that the baby is doing well.
I have to say this post scared me a bit. I'll be 32 weeks tomorrow. I know I have a growth sono at 34 weeks. I never knew about this kind of appt. where the doctor will reach in and feel the baby's head. Yikes. Is this what they call an internal appt when you further along?

It is the internal and it really is not scary. The doctor puts there hand in really quick. It is nothing more than how it is when you go fro regular gyno appointments. Actually it was better. It is really exciting to find out if the baby is in position or not. The doctor is also able to tell you whether your mucus plug broke or not by doing the internal. No worries. It's all good.

Thank you for the post... I have mine tomorrow and trying to relax aobut it...but i figure it's all about the baby and is only going to get stranger

glad to hear I am not the only one nervouse about this apt GULP mine is on froday I didnt know either that they stick there whole hand up there...my midwife was al ready able to tell me that the baby is inpossiton by feeling my belly ??
