Is it Normal??

I am 9 weeks and no longer fit in to my pants and maternity clothes make me look ridiculous!! Is it normal not to fit in to regular clothes at this point?? I also feel like I have a little bulge, but I know its still early! I just feel so ugly in this awkward stage! Did anyone else feel this way so early on?

Yup--I felt pretty gross up until about 18 weeks or so when there was no denying that I was pregnant. I got a belly fast, but it didnt look like a pregnant one up until then...it gets better.

Re: Is it Normal??

Yeah, a lot of times there is bloating that makes us squeeze out of our regular clothes!

I used a tummy sleeve (another version of the Bella Band) to be able to get a couple more weeks out of my regular pants!

I was just saying last night how gross I look and feel. I no longer fit in my regular pants but maternity clothing looks so dumpy on me right now. I hate this stage. Chat Icon

Re: Is it Normal??

I live in sweatpants (thank goodness I work in a school and was home, b/c I cannot even imagine having to get dressed!) b/c of that. I finally went a few days ago to buy some maternity pants, but even so they are still big on me. Its a horrible stage I can't wait until I look pregnant and not like I ate a box of donuts!

yep, normal. i think the bottom line is, your body isn't your own from the minute you get that BFP! there are all kinds of stages of preggo body, and you are in one of the more unpleasant ones - but don't worry, before you know it the bloat will go away and the baby belly will appear! just wear the clothes that you feel most comfortable in. I'm with you on this...i'm almost 10 weeks and can't fit into my work pants any more. I've been eating so much that I gained about 5 pounds in the last month. I went to Macy's and bought the bands that you wear around your pants. I wore it yesterday and I must say it was so comfortable.

Re: Is it Normal??

I use the bella band and when I feel particularly bloated, I've resorted to maternity pants (I have a pair that has just a little elastic at the back so it's not a panel or anything).

I am a little past 12 weeks and what I do is wear regular NY & Co sweatpants (medium short). I pair them with a maternity top, but if you look in JCPenney's some of their cotton tops are cut a bit smaller with just enough room for the belly. I have a few Duo shirts with them. I've tried to get away with my regular T-shirts, but it looks like beer gut city! Chat Icon

Re: Is it Normal??

ugh I have such a muffin top.
I am going to Marshalls on lunch, maybe buy a bigger pair of pants, and see if they have those belly bands.
Otherwise my skirts have come in handy, I just wear them higher.

Re: Is it Normal??

Im 10 weeks 6 days.. and I have massive bloating, I asked the doctor if it was normal because people already started to ask me if I was pregnant! I really wanted to keep it a secret for about another two weeks.. but my gut says it all!

Don't feel bad, everyone is different.... Right now Im just concentrating on having a healthy baby.. I'll figure out how to get rid of the blubs later! Chat Icon

you are definitely not alone! I would suggest you go try one of the belly bands - it was a godsend for me!
