there is only one in there
I swear if one more person asks me the question I will scream. It is always the follow up question after . . . how far along are you.
To all of those that have asked, thank you so much for adding to my discomfort.  Thank you so much for making me feel more uncomfortable in my own skin. Thank you so much for making me feel unattractive. Oh, and thank you from the bottom of my heart for making me feel like I have gained so much weight that I couldn't possibly be carrying just one baby.
PS. to my mother -
for the 100th time, the due date is December 9, not October 9, and yes we are sure.

Oh, I'm sorry you have been getting these comments. People are just so clueless, and this is never the kind of thing you would say to someone who was not pregnant!
A coworker told me my butt was starting to match my stomach a couple weeks ago. Thank you! Yes, I realized it had gotten larger, but I don't need to be told this!

I truly believe that people will ask anyone if there is more than 1 baby in there no matter how big or small you are! I keep getting asked if there is more than 1 and I don't think I got that huge!
My response is always the same, "well if there is more than 1 in there, the doctors must have really missed something... I'm pretty sure we'd know by now."
(especially since we are 6 days away from EDD!)
Just remind yourself every morning before you see anyone that people are going to say stupid things!!!
(although you would think your mom would have the due date right! Won't she be disappointed when she thinks the baby is 2 months late!!!  )

I feel your pain!! I had 2 people in a week ask if I was having twins...one man said let me guess when you are due and guessed October, are you having twins?.... the other a grandmother in the store, said Oh my DIL is due 2 days before you but she isnt NEARLY as big as you, are you having twins....
Thanks, how sweet of you.....maybe my baby is just happy to be seen by all!
Thankfully a week after these 2 nice people a woman said I looked wonderful for just staring my 6th month! I thought I was going to cry when she said that!!!
I dont have any advice because obviously I am still annoyed by my experience. But I will say I am with you my friend!!

My mom always follows her "are you sure" due date question with . . . you'll never make it, you're way too big, that baby is coming by Thanksgiving.

Hang in there. Some people just feel that a pregnant woman mean that they are free to make any comments about their body without considering her feeling.When my mother-in-law first heard that I was pregnant,which was very early on. Every week after she would ask my husband Not If i'm showing yet,which is the question you ask someone pregnant, but HAVE I GAIN WEIGHT YET and AM I GETTING FAT. LIke she was just waiting for the pound to pack on. Finally I had to yell something pretty rude to her when my husband was on the phone with her and she never asked about my size or weight again.
Forget what people tell or ask you. I'm sure you very beautiful and will bring a beautiful baby to this world.Congrats and good luck.

I am so sorry. People really are just clueless. People have made stupid comments to me that have made me upset. In the spring one woman at my school asked me how far along I was and I think I said 5 months. She said wow you are going to have a big baby. I couldn't believe. I turned to my student teacher and she whispered to me no, she is going to have a normal size baby like everyone. Then recently I went to a friend's house and friend who hasn't seen me in awhile said you are huge. I said yeah I know I am almost 9 months pregnant. People just think it is okay to say these things to pregnant women. Don't they realize we know we are big we are carrying babies.

Ooo, that happened last week! Someone at work said OMG you popped didn't you, you're bigger than "Mary"! Mind you, "Mary" is carrying twins AND she is further along than I am!
