when BFing.

how long do you nurse on one side and then switch to the other?

I decided to BF and do not have time for a class as I am due tomorrow.

Re: when BFing.

Well, good luck tomorrow (or soon--ETA: at first I thought it said that you were scheduled tomorrow))!!!!!

I don't know the answer except to say that I am sure that different moms and babies do it differently. Some people on Parenting have said that their baby has a preference for one breast over the other.

I just wanted to let you know that I was assured during my hospital tour that there will be a lactation specialist plus many nurses who will answer BFing questions. They seemed to say that patients can find someone at any hour to help.

Re: when BFing.

To begin with it's usually 10-20 minutes on each side.

Once nursing is well established and as your baby gets bigger it changes depending on his/her needs.

Thats what they say to do, that way the baby gets the "rich" milk at the end.
