Does anyone know a good decorator?

I have a room in my house that we need to completely re-do, I mean rip down to the studs and start over. It's kind of an unusual space so I think I want to hire a decorator to help make the most of the room...does anyone have any recommendations?

We need to do the rooms in the back - behind the dining room and kitchen area - and we really want to make the most of the room so I am looking for some ideas from a professional. If it was just decorating I could probably do it myself but I think we need a little help with the layout and getting creative.

I know a great interior designer, his name is Thomas Cooper and he's out of New York City- but does work on LI as well as Westchester & CT.

Do you need furniture also? My aunt is an interior designer for Ethan Allen and I know that part of their services is to go to the house and write up a floor plan and what not.
