anyone have any natural cures. My doc will not prescribe anything. I Have it really bad, can't sleep more than 2-3 hours a night, I work al lday and am half asleeep. I am worried that I am going to fall asleep driving or at work, it's scary. I am completely at my wits end with this...this pregnancy has been such a nightmare, I'm still sick, can't sleep, God I can't wait for this baby to coe and I've got a ways to go......Chat Icon

Re: insomnia

Ask your doc about Benadryl. And even Unisom. I used Benadryl a few times and read that some docs are ok with Unisom. GL!

Re: insomnia

try unisom. it's actually one of the meds they recommend for morning sickness, so it's definitely safe.

Re: insomnia

I have heard that calcium is a natural muscle relaxent. I too am having trouble sleeping. I sometime wonder if my fatigue is from the first trimester hormonal changes or if its the lack of sleep.

It also helps me to get up and read for a bit when I have insomnia. Not a newspaper, but a book or magazine (also not something too interesting).

Don't watch TV or go on the computer, supposedly something about the light flickering makes your brain more alert.
