? about dialating
Does anyone know if there any way to tell if we have dialated at all? (I mean, before going to the Dr. for an internal)
I've been having so much soreness in the pubic bone area...and occasional cramping down low...do you think this can be just the baby getting lower or possibly dialation? I can barely walk today !
TIA!

I don't think so but you said your belly hadn't dropped at all right?
I hope you feel better

Re: ? about dialating
I think the only way to tell is to insert a finger & judge the size of the opening (if there is one). My dr said they don't really measure anything, they basically tell depending on what they feel.
BTW, I can hardly walk today too!

Re: ? about dialating
At my 36 week visit I was 1cm dilated and 50% effaced and was that way at my 37 wk visit as well - I had NO idea - at that point I had had no cramping, no additional pressure and was basically really surprised! So I'm not sure that the signs don't mean something is happening but I don't always think there are signs that there are - you should be getting an internal soon - hang in there
ETA: Oops just saw you are going tomorrow for the internal...good luck

Well I can let you know more later today because I have another internal for my 38 wk (just about) visit. This week I have had cramping and have been feeling more pressure so lets see if that means progress...but, I think I am hoping for the opposite as you...I think I am the only crazy pregnant lady out there who actually wants to stay pregnant for a little longer

Re: ? about dialating
NOOOOOO!!!!!
Ive gone to the doctor sure that there were things going on and NOTHING..and this time I was sure he was going to tell me I was still only a finger tip and was shocked when he told me I was 4cm and that my cervix was almost fully effaced.
