Big scare
I let the dogs out and about 5 min later, I went to call them in. They all came in but Denver. I went out and the gate was open! Verizon was here today and apparantly, left the backyard without shutting the front gate, I am furious Anyway, Denver was out. I was so upset, I ran up and down the block as I was - no shoes, no socks, calling Denver's name and asking if he wanted a treat. DH came out and spotted Denver - he was about halfway down the block in one of my neighbor's bushes, watching me. He went running right for DH, thank God. I was shaking and so freaked out, I have never come close to losing one of them before. I am still shaken up and upset but SO glad Denver was close and okay

Oh my gosh - I would have been sooooo scared!!!
I would call Verizon and tell them to mark your account that all gates, etc need to be closed. Sometimes some places will do that.
I know the oil company at my old house had the account marked - and they would come to the door to let me know that they were there and when they were done they would come back and let me know that the gate was closed

Glad everything worked out ok. No matter how careful we are, our pups always seem to get out at least one. Good think you have your dogs tagged and chipped!!
Verizon did the same at my house - and I found Scout sitting at the front door!!

Thank God he is home safe...we had that happen once when Slomins delivered oil. Thankfully, Misty was by the front door.

So scary!!!!!!
About a month ago the same thing happened ... looked around for the dogs because we found the gate open and only found Bailey. We searched all over the neighborhood in tears for about a half hour (the thought of Max being sick and just wandering off  ) ... went inside for something and he was under the dining room table the entire time

That is my biggest fear! We have a tenant whose enterence is in our backyard. He sometimes leaves the gate open. Luckily I have caught it before I let the dogs out! I told my husband the next time he does it to tell him he is EVICTED. Jake would come back if he got out but Henry would take off and never look back. I'm so happy you found Denver!

I did this once. Ran down the block screaming for my dog, in tears, NO BRA!
My neighbors came out thinking I had been attacked.
I ran back into my house through the back to get my keys to start looking for her in the neighborhood. Turns out she was under a bush in the backyard the entire time.
I quietly went inside my house hoping my neighbors wouldn't call the cops.
Glad Denver was safe!
