LONG / Kitchen Cabinets - What would you do??

If you remember last summer (July), a tree came into our house and we had to live somewhere else, we moved back home before the holidays after the rebuild....We had to do the landscaping over (grass and all) due to the trucks ruining our yard, had to paint the interior due to new windows blah blah (work/work/work....)...so now, up to the kitchen, the last piece of the puzzle. We had to replace 2 sets of uppers and 2 sets of lowers/ which had drawers. We went first to Lowes to order replacement cabinets (the house came w/ new cabinets from Lowes 3+ yrs ago)--we even brought the cabinet face w/ us to make no mistakes. Then we picked out granite from a granite place, had the kitchen templated, we timed this so all came together at the same time so DH could tile and grout, and paint the kitchen before the granite and cabinets arrived.
So the cabinets arrived last Monday, 14 boxes...I accepted the delivery and had them put them in the dining room and on Saturday after the delivery the kitchen floor was done and DH and friend opened the boxes (first time) to install the cabinets...WRONG cabinets. Okay...turns out now after many phone calls that Lowes does not carry, or can they get our current cabinets. After doing everything needed for the house I do not want to spend the $$ to do all the cabinets over-no way---we were told that we could get our cabinets replaced--but the person who orignally told us that is now in a different Lowes in N.C., and we ordered these cabinets on his direction...
Do I live w/ what we received in the delivery even though the drawers don't match, the white is a bit brighter, and texture is a bit different and I dont' like them....do we spend time searching for these cheapo cabinets in hope of finding them, or improvise (and I like them)---we think (from the current salesmans conversation) since Lowes made the mistake from the getgo---they will provide us w/ the glass door cabinet style to help look a bit more of a match and just live w/ the lower cabinets not really matching...I don't know what to do--what would you do. And now the granite was to be delivered today--and is now sitting in the warehouse waiting on us...DH wants me to make a decision tonight and I can't--i feel a bit pressured!!!

The key thing you said, was that you don't like the cabinets Lowes sent. That is reason enough for me to figure out something else. It also seems the alternative you like best is to improvise and force Lowes to give you glass cabinets you like. Go for it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm slightly confused-is this through a homeowners claim? If it is I would call your insurance co. and explain what the deal is and they will pay for all new cabinets and the labor to install them.

If it is not through insurance...I would search for the manufacturer and call them and see what they can do for you.
