Would would you do re: telling bosses? - UPDATE
So I told my boss on Monday that I was pregnant. She took the news ok but wasn't thrilled about it when she realized I would be out on leave during the busiest time of year. I am pretty sure she didn't tell her boss (VP of the department) yet because he was on vacation until today and she has been in meetings all day. I have a meeting with the VP this afternoon to go over a few items. Should I tell him I am pregnant or wait and let my boss tell him? I don't want to step on her toes at all.
UPDATE - I told him. When I walked in he asked me how I was and how things were going. He asked if I was ok and happy (He is a really nice man and we are going through a lot of changes right now in the department). I figured that was my opening to tell him. He was thrilled!!! He was better about it than my boss was. When I told him when I would be out on leave, he said "That's fine, we will make it all work out!" Of course, he isn't the one who needs to make it work, my direct boss is but knowing how positive he was about it can't hurt the situation. Thanks for your great advice ladies! It was so right!

personally, I would tell him, only bc if she didn't take it well, I wouldn't want her adding her own opinions when she tells him....I would want him to get all the information from me.

I would mention it. I would say something like "Oh, I am not sure if (ur boss' name) had a chance to mention it to you, but I'm pg"

ditto this. After dealing with work issues since I told them last week, I would absolutely do what I can to get it out there in as positive a light as possible.

This point was why I decided that telling him was the best thing for me.
