At my friends they did the cuteset thing...they had baloons int he middle with a weght, and all around the balloons they piled little letter blocks, it was so cute, il see if i have a pic...

At my shower they did lined baskets ( for use later)wrapped in cellophane stuffed with baby things( pacifiers, washcloths, johnson & johnson stuff ets.) and ballons.
I am waiting for my friendsto email the pics

My first name starts with "M" and so does DH's...so we always have m&m candies in the house - throughtout the house (cheesy i know but who doesn't love an m&m) 
Anyhoo for the centerpeices mom put out balloons with bags of peanut m&m's as the weight. She says one of the "m" has a peanut inside... I thought it was cute!!!

At my shower my mom ordered a mixture of roses and with other flowers in nice vases.

Another cute idea is go to thrift store and buy teacups and saucers-then put one large bloom in each and group them together. They don't have to match...

didn't have mine yet, but for my sisters we did fresh flowers. it was very pretty and simple. we bought $10 vases from micahels and used those.
