Is a cold pg related, or just a cold?

I have the worst cold or allergies today I can't tell what it is, but I'm literally sneezing ALL DAY long (honestly sneezing probably 20-30/hr) and very sniffly. Is my immune system just down from pregnancy, or do I just have a cold?

not sure, but I thought our immune systems are supposed to be up from pregnancy..?

I was sick like that for the first two months, on and off. Never really felt sick, just all stuffed up, which is something that can come with pregnancy. Now I sneeze a ton lately because of the humidity. I never had allergies, but I could swear since becoming preggo I got them. Feel Better!!

I've had a stuffed nose and sneezing since about 3 months. I read that it is a symptom of being pg.

Thanks ladies. I haven't had any other pg symptoms today, so maybe the constant sneezing is my sign for the day that baby is OK.

I read that constant sneezing and sniffling is normal. Apparently all of our membranes get more mucuous-like (I think this is why we get more CM the entire pregnancy as well)

I am definitely more stuffed up and snotty than before I was pregnant. (meaning mucus-y - I am still nice )

yep, i had a runny nose and sneezed for the better part of my first trimester. no idea if it was allergies or if it was pregnancy- related. but i've read that it's common to be chronically stuffy in pregnancy because your mucous membranes get more leaky.

My allergies are terrible but I usually get a lot of colds and have not had one yet. I was sort of fighting a cold but then I won!!!!! Today I suddenly feel like I might be fighting one again so we shall see.

i got sick when i was about 2 months pg and it lasted for a few weeks, it was awful.

During my 3rd month of pregnancy I had a horrible cold for about 3 days. My nose would not stop running. I did some research and found out that pregnancy suppresses the immune system. It does this so your body does not reject the fetus as a foreign substance. I found the following on the internet:

I sneeze like crazy all day and night and constantly have to blow my nose, but I never feel sick. Once in awhile I get stuffy but I can tell its not sinuses or anything like that. This has been going on since the very beginning of my pregnancy and has gotten worse recently(Im 20 weeks). LIke some people above said, the dr. says it is just part of the mucous membranes having more fluid during pregnancy.
