Family Dilema....
My cousins baby shower is today and I'm alittle annoyed......yesterday was my block party and no one in my family came b/c they were busy planning her shower....last weekend I had a party and not only did my cousin not come... she didn't even have the courtesy to respond..I have a ton of things to do today including cleaning up out side from lastnights party.... I don't feel like going to the shower partially b/c I'm annoyed at her and partially b/c I have soooo much that needs to be done today(it's also an hour drive each way)......what would you do? Go or blow it off?

UGH..this is tough. Honestly, I would suck it up and go. With everything going on in her life right now I'm sure she's overwhelmed.
I know this is not what you wanted to hear.

Re: Family Dilema....
I agree with Susan - I would go if I were you. I remember being in the last few months of my pregnancy, during the summer, and let me tell you, it's HELL. She's probably exhausted, cranky, bloated, swollen, and just miserable, and I can't really blame her for not making too many family events - I certainly blew off most of our social engagements in my last trimester. And, really, the last thing you want to do is cause any kind of hostility in what will be a really wonderful time with a new baby

Re: Family Dilema....
The fact that she didn't repsond or show last week is very inconsiderate & I would be annoyed at that.
BUT.....as for the block party......and her & other family members not showing up because of planning & getting ready......that is a valid excuse I think.
I think you have to suck it up & go

Re: Family Dilema....
I agree with Beth. Go. I hardly went to any of our family functions the last trimester of my pregnancy because I was swollen and miserable, and I had my head up my behind. Cut her a little slack and definitely go. You'll be glad you did the right thing in the end.

How annoying. I would go though otherwise they will have something to say about you.

It doesn't bother me that she didn't make the party, but that she didn't have the courtesy to repond......and this isn't a pregnancy thing with her... she never responds.....just completley ignores the invite.... she also went to her friends wedding on fri. and is just alittle over 6 months now, so she's not dealing w/ final trimester stuff

Re: Family Dilema....
it's her bridal shower... I think you should go and cut her a little slack-- I totally understand where you are coming from and while I would be annoyed I remember the total craziness of wedding planning and I was totally busy and totally stressed all the time.
eta-- I thought it said bridal, not baby... but either way, I think you should go.. which i think you decided to do anyway!
