Rent

Has anyone ever negotiated rent for an apartment? I found one I think is pretty darn well perfect for mom, dad and Fred but the rent is about $200 too high. It's a lot of moolah!

It does include all utils including cable though and even the w/d is on the main level.

I hope to go see it tomorrow but it's though a realtor and I almost expect to negotiate.

Interested to hear opinions especially from anyone who is a landlord.

I guess I should go check it out first before really trying to negotiate but I wrote an email to the realtor already.

I will also try to negotiate the fee as well.

Hey, if you don't ask, you don't get.

Re: Rent

The squeaky wheel gets the oil. Give it a shot. All they can say is "no". Good luck. I hope everything works out.

Re: Rent

My mom was renting out an apt and a few people would ask her about negotiating the price. At 1st she didn't but after a few months of no tenant she agreed to take $100 off the rent for her tenant that's in there now.

So you never know!
GOOD LUCK!!!!

I guess it depends, if it's a complex, probably not. If it's a private rental I would think that they are negotiable.
